I'm passionate about cybersecurity, information technology, networking, systems administration, artificial intelligence, and software development. Much of my experience comes from building, configuring, troubleshooting, and continuously expanding my own server infrastructure, applications, networks, and technical projects.

About Me

Technology has always interested me far beyond simply using it. I enjoy understanding how systems actually work, how they communicate, what happens when they fail, and how they can be improved, secured, automated, or rebuilt from the ground up.

My interests span cybersecurity, networking, server administration, virtualization, artificial intelligence, data storage, software development, self-hosted infrastructure, and hardware. I tend to approach technology from a full-stack infrastructure perspective, meaning I like understanding the entire environment rather than only one small piece of it.

A large portion of my hands-on experience comes from designing, building, maintaining, and continuously expanding my own home lab. My environment includes physical servers, virtual machines, network storage, local AI systems, Linux servers, Windows Server environments, Docker containers, network infrastructure, and remote-access services. I use the lab as both a production environment for my own services and as a controlled space where I can experiment, troubleshoot, and learn.

My virtualization environment allows me to work with multiple operating systems and platforms, including Windows, Windows Server, Ubuntu, Ubuntu Server, macOS, and Android. This gives me the ability to test software, build services, explore networking configurations, and work with different operating environments without being limited to a single platform.

Artificial intelligence has also become a major part of my lab. I have worked with locally hosted large language models, Linux-based AI servers, Open WebUI, Docker-hosted services, API integrations, and models such as Llama and Qwen. I am especially interested in the intersection between AI, automation, infrastructure, security, and private locally hosted data.

Storage and data management are another major part of the environment. I maintain NAS infrastructure used for centralized file storage, backups, project data, server resources, business files, and network accessible data. My goal with the lab is not just to store information, but to create an environment where systems, data, automation, and AI can work together.

Networking ties much of the lab together. I work with UniFi networking equipment, local and wide-area networking, remote connectivity, Cloudflare services, self-hosted applications, segmented environments, and network troubleshooting. I enjoy understanding how traffic moves through a system and how each layer—from the physical connection to the application—affects reliability and security.

Cybersecurity is ultimately where many of these interests come together. My lab gives me a controlled environment where I can explore defensive security concepts, system hardening, network behavior, access control, server configuration, monitoring, and how different technologies interact in realistic deployments.

I also enjoy development because it allows me to build the tools and interfaces that sit on top of the infrastructure. My projects include web development, JavaScript-based experiments, self-hosted web services, server-side applications, and interfaces that connect users with the systems running behind them.

What I enjoy most is taking a project from beginning to end. That might mean selecting the hardware, installing and configuring the operating system, building the network, deploying the server or container, securing it, connecting storage and data, integrating AI or APIs, and finally creating the interface used to interact with it.

I do not see cybersecurity, networking, servers, AI, storage, and development as completely separate fields. To me, they are different parts of the same system. That is why I continue expanding my lab and building new projects: I want to understand how the entire stack works, from the physical server in the rack all the way to the software and services running on top of it.

Local AI Infrastructure

A locally hosted artificial intelligence environment built around Linux servers, local large language models, Docker services, and AI interfaces including Open WebUI. The system provides a platform for experimenting with LLMs, APIs, automation, and private AI services.

Network Attached Storage

A large self-hosted NAS environment used for centralized data storage, network services, backups, project data, and server resources. The system includes both local network storage and services designed for access throughout the wider network.

Virtualization Environment

A virtualized server environment hosting multiple operating systems and services, including Windows, Windows Server, Ubuntu, Ubuntu Server, macOS, and Android.

VPS Infrastructure

A VPS environment used for testing servers, operating systems, networking, remote services, development workloads, and infrastructure that can operate independently from my primary machines.

AI Knowledge System

An evolving personal AI project designed around combining locally stored information, AI models, server infrastructure, and searchable data into an intelligent knowledge environment.

Web Development

Development of web-based projects, interfaces, JavaScript experiments, self-hosted sites, and applications deployed through local and cloud infrastructure.

Home Lab

My home lab is where most of my systems, cybersecurity, networking, AI, and server experimentation takes place.

Rather than being a single server, the lab is an evolving infrastructure environment containing physical servers, network storage, virtualization, AI workloads, networking equipment, security services, development environments, and multiple operating systems.

Networking
